What is the difference between the Level 1 and Level 2D course?
The Level 1 – Medical Examiner of Divers course and the Level 2D – Diving Medical Physician course serve different but complementary roles in diving medicine.
Level 1 – Medical Examiner of Divers
The Level 1 course focuses on the medical assessment of diver fitness. Participants learn how to conduct diving medical examinations, identify conditions that may increase diving risk, and determine whether an individual is fit to participate in diving activities.
This course is appropriate for physicians and non-physician practitioners who perform diver medical evaluations for recreational, scientific, commercial, and public safety divers.
Key focus:
- Fitness-to-dive assessments
