Proposed Thalmann algorithm air diving decompression table for the Swedish Armed Forces
Mårten Silvanius, MSc; Hans Rullgård, PhD; Magnus Ekström, MD, PhD; Oskar Frånberg, PhD

Possible causes of narcosis-like symptoms in freedivers
Dr. Frédéric Lemaître; Dr. Guillaume Costalat; Jérémie Allinger; Prof. Costantino Balestra

Sudden hearing loss and early hyperbaric oxygen therapy: A preliminary study
Mirko Aldè, MD; Giovanna Cantarella, MD; Gioia Piatti, MD; Umberto Ambrosetti MD

  1. Understand the need for revision of the Swedish Armed Forces (SwAF) air dive tables and the aim of the study in developing new tables.
  2. Gain knowledge about the probabilistic models and deterministic algorithms used in the study to estimate the risk of decompression sickness (DCS) and neurological decompression sickness (CNS-DCS) during direct ascent air dives.
  3. Understand that reported narcosis-like symptoms are not only explained by classic “narcosis” mechanisms, but other freediving specific understanding.
  4. We propose another term to address the narcosis-like symptoms encountered during free diving FTCI: Freediving Transient Cognitive Impairment
  5. Understand the importance of early HBO2 therapy in patients with idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL).
  6. To describe the impact of early HBO2 therapy on hearing loss and tinnitus in patients with idiopathic SSNHL.
