  1. Understand that a ventilator typically will deliver less volume than the set tidal volume under hyperbaric conditions.
  2. Optimizing ventilation may require multiple adjustments to the ventilator to achieve the desired settings.
  3. Breath stacking represents a significant risk to the patient at higher respiratory rates. 
  4. To understand how the different patient related (such as age, sex, and body mass index) as well as dive related factors (dive depth, dive duration, specific DCS risk factors) can predispose to the onset of inner ear decompression sickness (IEDCS), and how this understanding can be utilized to minimize such risks.
  5. To understand that despite the good clinical recovery demonstrated by most IEDCS patients through visual, proprioceptive, and central vestibular compensation mechanisms, these mechanisms can be challenged underwater, and therefore comprehensive otoneurological examinations should be carried out for all patients after an IEDCS incident irrespective of clinical recovery.
  6. To understand the influencing factors of HBO2 for SSNHL and the necessity of individualized HBO2 therapy for SSNHL.
  7. To explore the pathways through which different therapeutic pressure might affect the efficacy of HBO2 for SSNHL at different frequencies.
